I have a passion for publications. I have no idea where this passion comes from — I just know I’ve always had it. I started PCOS Magazine (formerly PCOS Today Magazine) back in 2005, and just this past week put out the Sept/Oct 2009 issue (albeit a titch late). The next issue debuts in November.

That said, I’m also a plus-sized and rather TALL woman who likes to sew. I’ve had a few successes with sewing my own clothes (a ball gown for a major event; a dress shirt to go with a skirt), but I find that there doesn’t seem to be too many resources available for, specifically, sewing clothes and using commercial patterns for the plus-sized woman (or man or child, for that matter). The more I research, I see lots of what I’d call ‘grassroots’ information available, and a number of pattern companies listed online, but not magazine.

I’ve been a conniseur of magazines like Sew News, Thread (or is it Threads?), and the like. I think I saw plus-sized patterns covered recently…once….

SO, I want to hear from other plus-sized women who like to sew their own clothes.

Do you think a plus-size sewing magazine would be useful?

What content would be relevant?

Do you think there is market for a publication like this?

Online, offline, or both? Newsstand or not?

Potential advertisers (I have a few ideas, but I’d love to hear others thoughts)?

Please leave comments or e-mail me (my e-mail is on the “About” page). I look forward to hearing your ideas!

– Linda
